じょうたい【状態】

じょうたい【状態】

a state; a condition; 〔様子〕 an appearance; 〔局面〕 a situation; 〔様相〕 an aspect; the state of things [affairs]; 〔形勢･実態〕 the lay of the land: 【物】 〔量子力学の〕 a state. [⇒じょうきょう², じょうせい³]

●けがの状態 the condition of an injury

・グラウンドの状態 the condition of a ground [field, pitch]

・普通の状態 a normal state

・安定した状態 a stable condition

・情けない状態 a lamentable state

・はなはだ困った状態 a terrible [(反語的に) pretty] state of affairs

・危険な状態 a critical condition

●状態がいい[悪い] be in good [bad] condition

・今シーズンの彼は昨年痛めた右膝の状態がよくない. This season, the right knee that he injured last year is not in good condition.

・患者は依然として意識不明の状態が続いている. The patient is still in a state of unconsciousness.
